This is a non-smoking residence. No pets please.
2 bedroom, 2 bath, sleeps up to 4 adult non-smokers.
Our vacation home is not a B&B. Guests enjoy full privacy of the house and grounds.
Built in 1889 in the heart of the historic downtown district by Napa founder,
Nathan Coombs, our purple victorian painted lady has been eccentrically decorated by its colorful owners for over a
hundred years!
Enjoy our enchanted forest from the spacious veranda equipped with ceiling fans and a gas stove.
You'll have to fight the squirrels for the walnuts, but you can make fresh orange juice and lemonade from abundant
year-round fruit.
The upstairs has central air conditioning and heating with a ceiling fan and gas stove fireplace downstairs.
Each guestroom comes with luxurious linens, towels, robes and Simmons Beautyrest mattresses. Our largest guest bedroom
with queen-sized iron bed is the Bordello Room, so named for the antique velvet wallpaper reminiscent of the wild,
wild west. The Yellow Rose Room, has a pillowtop Sealy Postupedic queen bed and brass headboard. Antique French Provincial bookshelves
house a library of bestsellers
just waiting for a lazy afternoon on the wisteria-covered porch. English style cottage garden views from every room.
The "fainting room", with its original stained glass, is now up and running as an office with high speed internet and
printer.
The upstairs bathroom has an antique, clawfoot tub and Monet-inspired mural.
Fragrant bath salts and a garden view provided. Indulge yourself!
Downstairs consists of a kitchen, salon and formal dining room and bathroom with shower.
Our 1930's Wedgewood stove has has been restored to its former glory and comes complete with gourmet cookware.
The kitchen also contains a side-by-side refrigerator/freezer, microwave, crockpot, coffeemaker and toaster oven.
Breakfast and lunch are just across the street at the Alexis Cafe-Bakery.
Walk to shops and restaurants and shopping. Just a few doors down
is the historic Uptown Theater which is being renovated by Francis Ford Coppola. A 10-minute stroll to the Opera House
or the Old Mill makes a great walking tour of the many historic homes dating from the 1850's.
